Edward BANGS

Notes:

Kay Blair (historian for Doane Family Assoc) stated certainty Hannah Bangs' father was Edward, and that he came over on the Mayflower.

Some compiled reconstructions of the passenger list for the ship, Anne's passage in 1623, show Edward, his first wife, Lydia, and sons John and Jonathan as arriving on the Anne. Not all such lists show all the same passengers. While I know of no such record, it is not impossible that both passage on the Mayflower and passage on the Anne are true. There were some who made more than one passage between Europe and America in those early years.

Edward married Lydia HICKS about 1633. Lydia (daughter of Robert HICKS and Margaret WINSLOW) was born about 6 Sep 1612 in Bermondsey, City of London, Greater London, England; died between 1632 and 1634 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co, MA. [Group Sheet]

Edward married Rebecca HOBART in 1635 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co, MA. Rebecca (daughter of Edmund HOBART and Margaret DEWEY) was born in 1611 in Hingham, Norfolk, England; died after 15 Oct 1651 in Eastham, Barnstable Co, MA. [Group Sheet]

2. Lt. Joshua BANGS was born in 1637 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co, MA; died in 1709.
3. Capt. Jonathan BANGS was born in 1640 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co, MA; died in 1728 in Harwich, Barnstable Co, MA.
4. Lydia BANGS was born after 1640.
5. Hannah BANGS was born about 1644 in Eastham, Barnstable Co, MA; died in 1677.
6. Bethia BANGS was born on 28 May 1650; died on 15 Oct 1696.
7. Mercy BANGS was born on 15 Oct 1651.
8. Appthia BANGS was born on 15 Oct 1651; died about 1707.

John married Joan CHAVIS on 30 Jan 1587 in Panfield, Essex, England. Joan was born about 1570 in Panfield, Essex, England; died after 1631. [Group Sheet]
