Among death notices in the Newburgh Daily Journal of Fri. 28 Apr. 1865, is the following: "April 27th, After a
long and painful illness, Mary, beloved wife of George Couch, aged 40 years, 6 months and 18 days.
I would not live alway,
No welcome the tomb,
Since Jesus hath lain there,
I dread not its gloom,
There sweet be my rest till
He bid me arise,
To hail him in triumph
Descending the skies.
