  1. 1.  Ann PERKINS was born in 1627 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co, MA; died on 4 Dec 1648 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co, MA.

    Notes:

Although Ann Perkins has been oft cited as the wife of Deacon John Doane, the Doane Family Association has determined this is not so. John's wife, Ann's surname is unknown.

A quote from "The Doane Family News," Spring 2000, Volume XIV, Number II, by Kay Hartman, Doan(e) Family Historian: "DO NOT accept information without questioning the source and asking for documentation. I have spent hours tracking this down. We have been paying Michael Wood, a professional genealogist in England, to trace some of the information and try to find some evidence of Deacon John. So far, nothing has been found, but a number of leads have been disproved along with the one about Ann Perkins! [Personally, I do not believe this to be true as Anne Perkins is listed as coming from Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and we DO know that Anne was married to Deacon John when she arrived with their children to join him in Plymouth.]"

The Doane Family Association has spent many dollars and many hours researching John Doane. A few facts found by their research: Anne was not Anne Perkins.
