In the same cemetery as Joseph Grenot, son of Charles Grenot and Marie Magdeleine Duvernay, is a grave for Henry Grenot, parents unknown, born Oct 1852, died 23 Aug 1853. This note is in remembrance of that child, who may or may not be the child of Charles Grenot and Octavie Deruize (according to his birth year). Joseph and Henry are the only persons name of Grenot in that cemetery (and also having a findagrave memorial).

• Marie Grenot Laboustrie married Felix Laboustrie 22 Jan 1874 in Orleans Parish, LA, per marriage certificate. This means she was NOT born in 1868.
• Born to Charles Grenot (Grenaut) were three daughters with similar names:
——1. Marie Grenot, was born the daughter of Charles & Rosa Duvernay, Charles's 1st wife (who had children born in 1847 & Est. 1848). This Marie, daughter of Rosa Duvernay, died as an infant and was born in 1847 and died in 1847 per birth information giving her parents and death certificate also giving her parents.
Note: Charles's 2nd wife, Marie Magdeleine Duvernay, had one child with Charles named Joseph, born in 1849.
——2. Marie Grenot [Laboustrie], was born the daughter of Charles & Octavie Deruize, Charles's 3rd wife (who had children born from about 1851 to 1855). This Marie was born Est. 1853 and died in 1938, marrying Felix Laboustrie in 1874 per marriage license. Due to her marriage year, the estimate of her birth in 1853 seems close.
• Although there is much estimation in the birth dates of the children of Charles and which spouse they were of, it is clear that Marie Grenot Laboustrie was not born in 1868 and was unlikely to have been the daughter of Rosa Duvernay.
• This record also cites the father of Marie Grenot Labostrie as John Grenot. I don't know of the existence of any John Grenot who could have been her father as this record cites. Her parents were pretty clearly Charles Grenot & Octavie Deruize, even though I've found no specific document proving this. Although her 1874 marriage license does not give her parents, one of the two people who guaranteed a surety of $1000 was Rodolph Grenot, her brother. (It is unknown why this Marie is not in the 1870 census with her mother and siblings as she was not married until 1874.)
——3. Maria Grenot, was born the daughter of Charles & Marie Deraises, Charles's 4th wife (who married Charles in 1857 and had children born from 1859 to Est. 1866). This Maria was born Est. 1866 per the 1870 Census in New Orleans (where she and her 3 full siblings are shown living with Octavie and her children, all living in the household of Octavie's mother, Athemis Deruse).
Final Note: This record additionally cites John Grenot as "husband". Undoubtedly, this is because this record was obtained from a search for Rosa Grenot, and the record presenter thought John Grenot was her husband. Easy to do when working with so many names, relationships and dates. Be aware that even death certificates are based heavily on the recollection of the informant, who is sometimes a family member, sometimes not (and both mistaken often enough).
