Notes: The original Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles, Constantinople (the center of the Byzantine Empire), was dedicated in 330 A.D., and was replaced by a larger church and rededicated in 550 A.D., prior to being taken over by the Ottoman Turks in 1453 A.D. It was torn down in 1461 A.D., and the Fatih Cami mosque was built on the site, now located in Istanbul, Turkey.
