• My original information was The Old Family Cemetery at the Mouth of Bowen's Creek, Beech Fork, Cabell Co, VA (which would not be WV)...the burial place of Mary Adkins 1735 to abt 1820 in an unmarked grave. The coordinates given for this profile are for the mouth of Bowen Creek. (Other coordinates are given below)

According to one description: What remains of the old Bowen's (Family) Cemetery, dating back to the 18th century is north of Beech Fork State Park, near the Wayne and Cabell county line. However, Mary was not buried in a cemetery.
NOTE: This cemetery location may be incorrect; however, other information and map coordinates presented (on findagrave.com) are abiguous and/or incorrect.
• FindAGrave.com now lists Mary Adkins 1735-? as buried in Beech Fork Cemetery, and states that this cemetery was moved to a location north of Beech Fork State Park and is now called Dick Smith Cemetery and is in Wayne County. The coordinates given (
38.2772030, -82.4591250) show a cemetery some 4 hours or so away that is not near the dam and state park as described and shows Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Huntington, Cabell County, WV. Note: Dick Smith Cemetery is in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

However, the state park is about 6 miles from the mouth of Bowen's Creek, where Mary was said to have been buried. Mary may still be interred at the original location; which has nothing to do with the dam and state park...or she may be buried in the new cemetery (which shows incorrect coordinates).
